Company History

Romanoff Industries was founded in 1979 by Jack Romanoff, Jr. after Jack’s successful motor repair company, REMS (Romanoff Electric Motor Service) was sold to Siemens Corporation.  At the time of the sale, Rems Corporation has 14 facilities, in 12 cities, with over 400 employees.  Rems Corporation provided motor repair services, coil manufacturing, and surplus/reconditioned equipment throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

Romanoff Industries was originally founded to provide reasonably priced, used and surplus electric motors to the electric motor repair industry.  The company started in a 5,000 SF warehouse with Jack’s 16 year old son, Jay as the first warehouse manager.  Romanoff Industries now caters to both the motor repair industry and end users.  We have over 150,000 SF of storage in Toledo, OH and also warehouse inventory in Las Vegas, NV and Baton Rouge, LA.

In 1990, Jay Romanoff became the President and sole shareholder of Romanoff Industries.

Jack Romanoff, Jr. passed away in 1994 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.

Romanoff Industries now caters to both the motor repair industry and end users.

Romanoff Industries, Inc is blessed with many long term and dedicated employees with a combined 277 years of service.  Here are our team members:
