Squirrel Cage Motors are the most common type of electric motor. 1 Phase motors are used in residential and light commercial applications. 3 Phase motors are used in commercial and industrial applications.
Squirrel cage motors are a subdivision of induction motors. The squirrel cage motors channel electromagnetism to produce motion. The reason they are referred to as squirrel cage motors is the shape of their rotor. This is the interior part which is connected to the output shaft of the motor and has the appearance of a cage. Rotor bars join two circular end caps together and these are acted upon by the electromagnetic field produced by the stator. The stator is the outside housing of the motor comprised of wire coiling and laminated metal sheets.
We offer a wide-ranging selection of squirrel cage electric motor options. These models include those with HPs extending anywhere from 0.25 to 7000 and RPMs ranging from 514 to 3600. The types of enclosures with these squirrel cage motors include WPISB, DPSB, TEFCSB, DPBB, DPSB, TEFCSB Tube, TEFCBB, WPIISB, and WPIBB. The voltage range within our selection extends from 2300 to 13200.
