Warranty Terms and Conditions

ELECTRICALLY O.K. MOTORS

Electric Motors that are sold Electrically O.K. (E.OK) have been thoroughly tested and inspected by Romanoff Industries, Inc. For Electrically O.K. AC Motors, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following:

  • Megger test
  • Test run motor
  • D.C. Hi-Potential Test (2x Voltage + 1000 Volts)
  • Surge test
  • Single phase rotor test
  • Open & inspect motor for any broken or missing parts & check for iron damage on the rotor & stator
  • Shaft runouts and Tolerances
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment.

For Electrically O.K. DC Motors Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following:

  • Megger test the armature, fields, interpoles & brush rigging
  • Test run
  • Drop test fields & interpoles
  • Bar-to-Bar test the armature
  • Measure thickness of commutator (if thickness is less than 50% of EASA Standard, the customer will be advised immediately)
  • Open & inspect motor for any broken or missing parts & check for iron damage on the armature & field frame
  • Shaft runouts and tolerances
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment.

Electrically O.K. motors are sold with the understanding that the bearing condition is not guaranteed. Customers are expected to test and inspect the motor within one week of receipt and reconditioned prior to going into service. All Electrically O.K. motors are sold subject to the customer’s approval. Should the customer determine that the motor is not Electrically O.K., Romanoff Industries, Inc. will arrange the freight to have it brought back to our shop for inspection. Should Romanoff Industries, Inc. agree with the customer’s findings, original freight charges will be reimbursed to the customer. Romanoff Industries, Inc. will make every effort to negotiate a reasonable settlement for unanticipated repairs required for the motor to be reconditioned properly.


RECONDITIONED MOTORS

Electric Motors sold Reconditioned with a Warranty are sold with up to a One-Year Guarantee, unless otherwise noted. Should a motor fail in service, Romanoff Industries, Inc. should be contacted immediately. No outside work should ever be performed on a motor from Romanoff Industries, Inc. without the prior consent of your Sales Representative. Unauthorized work will void the warranty. If a warranty claim needs to be made, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will arrange to have the motor picked up and returned to our shop for further inspection. In all warranty situations, Romanoff Industries, Inc. reserves the right to repair the motor or replace it with a comparable option. Should the repair of the motor be uneconomical, or a suitable replacement is unavailable, a full refund of the purchase price will be made.

For Reconditioned AC Motors Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following testing and procedures:

  • Megger test
  • Test run
  • D.C. Hi-Potential Test (2x Voltage + 1000 Volts)
  • Surge test
  • Open & inspect motor for any broken or missing parts & check for iron damage on the rotor or stator
  • Replace any broken or missing parts
  • Dynamically balance the rotor
  • Full voltage test
  • Vibration test for 3600 RPM motors
  • Re-Insulate windings if needed
  • Install new bearings on all ball or roller bearing motors. All sleeve bearing motors will meet EASA standards.
  • Shaft runouts and tolerances
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment.

For Reconditioned DC Motors Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following testing and procedures:

  • Megger test the armature, fields, interpoles & brush rigging
  • Test run
  • Drop test fields & interpoles
  • Bar-to-Bar test the armature
  • Measure thickness of commutator (if thickness is less than 50% of EASA Standard, the customer will be advised immediately)
  • Turn & undercut commutator if needed
  • Open & inspect motor for any broken or missing parts & check for iron damage on the armature & field frame
  • Replace any broken or missing parts
  • Install new bearings
  • Dynamically balance armature
  • Shaft runouts and tolerances
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment

NEW SURPLUS MOTORS

New Surplus Electric Motors are unused but are no longer covered by the factory warranty. Electric Motors sold New Surplus with a Warranty are sold with up to a One-Year Guarantee, unless otherwise noted. Should a motor fail in service, Romanoff Industries, Inc. should be contacted immediately. No outside work should ever be performed on a motor from Romanoff Industries, Inc. without the prior consent of your Sales Representative. Unauthorized work will void the warranty. If a warranty claim needs to be made, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will arrange to have the motor picked up and returned to our shop for further inspection. In all warranty situations, Romanoff Industries, Inc. reserves the right to repair the motor or replace it with a comparable option. Should the repair of the motor be uneconomical, or a suitable replacement is unavailable, a full refund of the purchase price will be made. Even though these motors are unused, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete all the procedures that our shop completes for all reconditioned motors.


ELECTRICALLY O.K. DRY TYPE TRANSFORMERS

Dry Type Transformers that are sold Electrically O.K. (E.OK) have been thoroughly tested and inspected by Romanoff Industries, Inc. For Electrically O.K. Dry Type Transformers, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following:

  • Megger test
  • Surge test
  • Inspect insulation
  • Open & inspect for any broken or missing parts
  • Properly mark all leads
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment.

Electrically O.K. dry type transformers are expected to be tested and inspected within one week of receipt. All Electrically O.K. dry type transformers are sold subject to the customer’s approval. Should the customer determine that the dry type transformer is not Electrically O.K., Romanoff Industries, Inc. will arrange the freight to have it brought back to our shop for inspection. Should Romanoff Industries, Inc. agree with the customer’s findings, original freight charges will be reimbursed to the customer.


RECONDITIONED DRY TYPE TRANSFORMERS

Dry Type Transformers sold Reconditioned with a Warranty are sold with up to a One-Year Guarantee, unless otherwise noted. Should a dry type transformer fail in service, Romanoff Industries, Inc. should be contacted immediately. No outside work should ever be performed on a dry type transformer from Romanoff Industries, Inc. without the prior consent of your Sales Representative. Unauthorized work will void the warranty. If a warranty claim needs to be made, Romanoff Industries, Inc. will arrange to have the dry type transformer picked up and returned to our shop for further inspection. In all warranty situations, Romanoff Industries, Inc. reserves the right to repair the dry type transformer or replace it with a comparable option. Should the repair of the dry type transformer be uneconomical, or a suitable replacement is unavailable, a full refund of the purchase price will be made.

For Reconditioned Dry Type Transformer Romanoff Industries, Inc. will complete the following testing and procedures:

  • Megger test
  • Surge test
  • Inspect insulation
  • Open & inspect for any broken or missing parts
  • Repair or replace any damaged panels
  • Steam, clean & bake
  • Properly mark all leads
  • Plug all holes
  • Clean, paint, and properly palletize for shipment.

PREPAY & ADD SHIPPING TERMS

Romanoff Industries, Inc. has many long-standing relationships with dozens of carriers and logistic brokers. Our goal is to pass along our discounted freight rates to our customers and help arrange the transportation of their freight when needed. Due to Romanoff Industries, Inc. having to typically pay freight bills prior to our customers’ invoices being paid, we provide the following shipping terms:

  • Freight Amount Under $1,000.00, there will be a 10% Service Charge
  • Freight Amount Over $1,000.00, there will be a 20% Service Charge
  • Freight Amount Over $1,000.00, Customer has the ability to pay with a Credit Card in Advance, with a 10% Service Charge
